Venue Type
The Norland Historic Estate offers both indoor and outdoor settings, providing flexibility to accommodate various wedding styles and sizes.
Indoor & Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Locations
For ceremonies, couples can choose between the elegant indoor drawing room, which can accommodate up to 150 guests, or the picturesque outdoor gardens featuring a charming gazebo.
Indoor & Outdoor Wedding Reception Areas
Receptions can be held in the expansive 3,500-square-foot ballroom, which features floor-to-ceiling windows and sophisticated chandeliers, creating an elegant atmosphere for celebrations.
Seated Capacity for Indoor and Outdoor Receptions
The indoor ballroom can accommodate up to 300 seated guests.
Privacy
The Norland hosts only one wedding a day, ensuring exclusive use of the estate for your event.
Access
Change this to “Vendors typically have access to the venue starting at 8:00 AM on the day of the wedding. Clients’ access to the venue is at 8:00 AM, with bedroom check-in at 1:00 PM. Vendors have until 2:00 AM to clean up.
Furniture
The venue provides Harvest and Round Tables, White Garden Chairs for the outdoors, and Chiavari Chairs for the ballroom.

Decorations
Personalized decor is welcomed, though certain restrictions may apply to preserve the venue’s historic integrity. It’s advisable to discuss specific decor plans with the events team in advance. In addition, the Estate works closely with their exclusive decor partner, Lethbridge Event Rentals, who can help create the perfect scene for your wedding day
Catering
The Norland partners with LA Chefs Catering, offering in-house catering services with customizable menus to suit your preferences.
Plated or Buffet Dinner Service
Both plated and buffet-style dinner services are available, allowing couples to choose the dining experience that best matches their vision for the celebration.
Alongside these services, the Estate offers Hors D’Oeuvres packages, Chef Action Stations, Late Lunch, Platters & Snacks, and Boxed meals.
Food and Drink Minimums
Minimum spend requirements for food and beverages may apply, depending on the size and nature of the event. These details can be discussed with the events team during the planning process.
Alcohol Policy
The Norland holds a liquor license and provides a selection of alcoholic beverages. Outside alcohol is not permitted, but the events team can work with couples to curate a bar menu that aligns with their preferences. (LA Chefs Catering offers a number of Bar services, including Full or Partial Bars, Corkage options, and Drink Stations. Vendor Restrictions
While The Norland has a list of preferred vendors familiar with the venue, couples are welcome to bring in their own vendors, with the exception of DJs and Bands, who require approval from the events team.
Sound and Music
Bands must be approved on an exception basis only by the Norland. Music must be no higher than 85 Decibels. These sound levels will be monitored, if exceeded a warning will be given to the DJ or the band if sound levels continue to exceed the allowable level the equipment must be unplugged.
Lighting
Ambient lighting is provided indoors and outdoors, and guests are welcome to rent or bring in lights if needed.
Electricity and Power
Ample power outlets are available throughout the property to support lighting, sound equipment, and other electrical needs.
Setup and Cleanup
Setup and cleanup services of equipment provided are included in the rental package, allowing couples and guests to enjoy the celebration without logistical concerns.
Parking
On-site parking is available for guests, with ample space to accommodate a large number of vehicles. There is no additional fee for parking.
Transportation
The venue is easily accessible by car, and transportation services can be arranged for guests traveling from Calgary or other nearby areas.
Accessibility
The Norland is committed to providing accessible facilities for all guests, with wheelchair-accessible entrances.
Coat Check/Storage
A designated coat check area is available for guests to store coats and personal items securely during the celebration.
Guest Accommodations
The Norland offers five guest rooms within the mansion, accommodating up to 10 VIP wedding guests. Additional lodging options are available nearby in Lethbridge for other guests.

Bridal Suite
A dedicated bridal suite is available for hair and makeup preparations, offering a private and comfortable space for the bride and her party to prepare before the ceremony. This bridal suite is available at 1:00 PM with some exceptions (weekend package booked, no events the day before, etc.). However, we do allow the lower level of the house to get ready at 8 AM.
Groom’s Room
The main floor flex space offers an area for the groom getting ready and his party to get ready in after 1:00 PM.
Photography

Rehearsal
The Norland accommodates pre-wedding rehearsals, typically scheduled the
week of the wedding. It’s advisable to arrange rehearsal times with the events team well in advance.

Due to safety regulations, fireworks are not permitted. However, sparklers may be allowed with prior approval from the venue.
Pet Policy
Pets are allowed during the ceremony time; however, they are not allowed for the remainder of the event and are not allowed in the mansion, with the exception of service dogs, which are allowed.
AV Capabilities
Audio/visual equipment is available for rental if needed. The events team can help arrange any AV requirements in advance to ensure a smooth experience.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided throughout The Norland, keeping you and your guests connected during the event.
