Weddings at Island Lake Lodge, BC
Do you dream of having one of those striking mountain weddings? Do you want your wedding weekend to also be a relaxing vacation for your guests?
You can stop looking at other BC wedding venues because there is only one choice for your wedding: Island Lake Lodge.
Let's take a look at what this beautiful Rocky Mountain wedding venue has to offer.
Rocky Mountain Wedding Venue Location
The Island Lake Lodge in Fernie, BC makes for a great wedding location for both locals and out-of-town guests. Here are just a few of the in-resort activities:
Hiking and biking on the nearby trails
Canoeing on the lake
Treatments at the Resort Spa, which offers discounts to wedding guests
For those traveling for the BC wedding, the venue is about a four hour drive from Calgary International Airport.
Island Lake Lodge Wedding Venues
Island Lake Lodge offers iconic views of the Rocky Mountains. For an outdoor wedding, the couple will be married at the "I Dew Point." This scenic backdrop will create an unforgettable ceremony and even better wedding pictures.
Getting married in the cold winter? No problem. You can also say "I Do" in the Bear Lodge Room.
Wedding Dining at Island Lake Lodge
The size of your wedding and the package you choose determines whether you and your guests will dine in the Bear Lodge Dining Room or the Tamarack Lodge Dining Room.
At either dining location, your wedding party will enjoy a 3-course plated meal catered by the culinary team at Island Lake Lounge.
Highlights from the sample menu include a cauliflower couscous salad with sprouted lentils and feta, herbed gnocchi with a brown butter sage sauce, pan-roasted BC salmon, and a chai latte creme brulee.
Island Lake Lodge Wedding Packages
The Island Lake Lodge offers inclusion wedding packages to accommodate different needs.
Couples looking for a big wedding weekend with over 40 guests might go for the 2-Day Wedding at Island Lake Package. This package includes the planning leading up to the wedding, arrival dinner, breakfast and lunch on the day of the ceremony, and reception dinner in the Tamarack Lodge as well as set up and tear down.
Those wanting a smaller, intimate wedding should go for the Evening Wedding or Elopement packages.
Accommodation, Reception, Ceremony at the Island Lake Lodge
At the Island Lake Lodge, they want you to unplug and relax. For this reason, there are no phones or TVs in the guest suites. But don't worry, the scenic views and on-site activities will keep you plenty entertained.
While at the Island Lake Lodge, you have the choice of staying at one of their three lodges:
The wedding couple might opt for the Tamarack Lodge with its deluxe guest rooms. The Tamarack lodge also houses the on-site spa.
If you want to stay nestled in the forest, check out the Cedar lodge. Especially during the winter months, you will want to cozy up by the fireplace in the living room.
The Red Eagle
The Red Eagle, named after Chief Red Eagle from Ktunaxa First Nation, is described as the most rustic of the lodges. This lodge offers views of mountains, lake, and forest from the main deck or your private balcony.
All accommodations come with complimentary canoe rental, free Wi-Fi, and access to a 3,000 bottle wine library. In addition, all guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast every morning of their stay.
