Kayla + Darren | A Mountain Wedding By Lake Louise

Okay, it rained but Kalya and Darren did not care one bit. They laughed and enjoyed their dream wedding. It was fantastic. Kalya knew the mystic appeal that rain can bring! Despite the excellent help from Mountainscape weddings and Jennifer at Lake Louise, they made an outdoor ceremony into an indoor ceremony and then back to an outdoor ceremony when this couple chose to endure the elements.

I have been photographing since 2007, and just seeing the ability that these two vendor teams pull off, well, it’s magical. They allowed a dream wedding of Kayla and Darren to take place. Good job team 🙂

Victoria Glacier opened up just twice

In the entire day, Victoria Glacier opened up just twice. Once was during the ceremony and the other time was late at night. On both occasions, I was ready. Kayla & Darren took 15 mins out of their reception time, and we headed down to the Lakeside. Clouds opened up, and the turquoise color of Lake Louise came through. Woot Woot.

Let’s rewind for a moment and talk about getting ready.  Girls just wanna fun.  No matter what the weather was like outside, Kayla and her bridesmaids knew how to bring sunshine into the day and they did!  It was a true celebration through and through from drinking champagne on the bed to the elegance of Kayla donning her wedding dress.  The laughter that Kayla’s sister brought to the table was contagious. I love happiness and joy; so many memories were made.

The connection and love Kayla and Darren have for each other is very special. You can see from the photos below Darren’s connection with Kayla is profound and meaningful. Darren hugged Kayla with relaxed feelings, which allowed for a gorgeous set of photographs. It set the background in Banff National Park for many stunning photographs.  Then we ventured into the spectacular outdoors.  The Victoria glacier peaked out from behind the looming clouds and only beauty endured.
